Yeah, I know. I know it's going to take a lot of time and a lot of healing.

[He's honestly a little surprised that she could reach over and touch his burned hand; other than Billy and some close friends, most people wouldn't try so quickly. He hopes she doesn't mind him moving his other hand to give her hand a squeeze, before he pulls both hands back to pull his sketchbook from his backpack.]

These tattoos I'm getting are going to help with that. The one I linked on Featherbook earlier? That dragon was the fire, and the phoenix was me, fighting it and rising above it.

[The scars aren't pretty - burn scars never are - but showing solidarity is more important. Besides, she has her own scars on her back. Easier to hide, but still not less traumatic.
