[Ambassador...

The fingers of his good hand curl slightly as his shoulder tenses, but he still smiles. Because while that title makes awful memories pierce through his head, this isn't the time for something like that. There's something she said that's caught his attention.]

Queen...? Then you...

[He takes her right hand, even knowing how awkward it'd be in his own right hand, and he kneels down to press her fingers to his forehead.]

... I knew you'd be like this someday. [He lifts his head to smile up at her.] I always knew you'd be a great queen.

[benevolency]

[ it's been years for her and she's seen luke rounded out a little from the journey. natalia is startled as he kneels before her, suddenly feeling a little more lonely though she wouldn't say it.

her face crinkles in a warm smile regardless. ]

I couldn't have done it without my family. Or my friends.

[ her fingers slip from his forehead and go to the top of his head, gently stroking through strands of hair as she smiles down at him. ]

I did not walk to the throne alone. I had you there to help put the mantle on my shoulders. I have you there when the burden is heavy and I need my family. I'll always be grateful to you. I will always be proud. Looking at you now as you were before..you only continue to grow. Both of us have, together.

[He can't help the big smile on his face, or the way a sense of comfort washes over him when she strokes his hair. Knowing all of this... Knowing it may be a possible future. A possible path out of many. It seems like a good path, one where he can be by Natalia's side, as a successful ambassador, and being there by her side.

He stands, taking her hand in his and still smiling.]

I'm happy to hear you say that. I'm... heh, I'm happy to see you like this. [He gives her hand a gentle squeeze.] I'm proud of you, too.

[benevolency]

[ for a minute natalia just stares at him with a mystified look on her face, before she nods, smiling happily. her eyes are a bit wet. ]

It's strange..remember when you called me a Wannabe Queen? And now--..
[ she wipes her eyes with her gloves ]
Our people are happy. That's all I could ever ask for in my life. All. of my people. You shall be happy.

[fabrecation]

I think it was more like a Wannabe Dictator.

[He grins and squeezes her hand just to indicate that he's joking. Jeez, he was so rude back then...]

... Then you really are changing your country. [You kept your promise, is what he's subtly trying to say. But there's one other thing on his mind:] How about you? Are you happy?
