[Ariel gives a half nod, somewhat distracted by her journey. The sand is both easier and harder to walk on. It's softer, but that's exactly the problem. Her balance is constantly shifting. There are a couple of moments where she has to stop and regain it, though she still doesn't fall.

And though it's slow going, the two eventually do make it to the tree. Ariel smiles widely, and she reaches out to take one of the fruits with both hands. And with a good yank -
